This book attempts to study the developmental perspectives and educational initiatives for children with disabilities. It also takes a close look at the philosophy, perspectives and initiatives for inclusive education for disabled children. About Author :
Shankar Das is a Professor and the Chairperson of the Centre for Health Policy, Planning and Management in the School of Health System Studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, India. In 2012 he was a Visiting Fellow at the LSE to develop cross-cultural Indo-UK policy research in area of elderly health care. Dr. Das has published extensively in reputed peer reviewed journals and written books on diverse subjects.
Ashima Das is working in the field of counselling psychology, disability, mental health, health research and development for last ten years. She pursued her doctoral degree at Tata Institute of Social Sciences. She is a recipient of National Kusuma Best Young Researcher Award (2010) for her distinguished work in the field of education of children with disabilities. She has published extensively, one of her well-known book Differential Childhood which deals with developmental perspectives and inclusive educational initiatives for children with disabilities.
