It clarifies the concepts and process of internship and School Experience Programme (SEP) under teacher education by tracing back the origin and their implementation Reviewing the related literature of both inland and abroad of the recent trends in Pre-service Teacher Preparation programme, it emphasises on the new components to be introduced in teacher-training. It further elaborates technical skills of teaching, supervision of practicum, induction of beginning teachers, monitoring, and the changing context of teacher education. The prospective model of teacher education lays emphasis on the progressive strands, academic approach, personalistic approach, competency approach, social reconstructionist approach, and the synthetic view of teacher preparation based on the research findings in various countries. The pre-internship, internship and post-internship activities have been identified along with the practical implementation strategies. Thus a prospective framework for teacher education pedagogy has been recommended which encompasses emerging conceptions of reflective professional, teaching laboratories, simulation field-based pedagogies, learning from experience, observation guides, structured assignments, opportunities to write about teaching, seminars and conversations, case and case methods, cognitive apprenticeship, and professional development in internship or SEP.
