About the Book :

This book attempts to examine the role of business and industry in the economic growth of the state of Mizoram. Tracing the factors that led to the development of business and industry in the state, it analyzes the role of government in the promotion and regulation of business and industry. It also extends an elaborate discussion on the role played by financial institutions and public sector undertakings (PSUs) in the development of industry in Mizoram, the taxation policies, and the problems faced by the business and industry in the state.

About Author :

R.K. Mishra is currently Senior Professor and Director, Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad. Earlier, he has taught at the University of Bradford, United Kingdom and was a visiting Professor of Maison Des Sciences De L Hommes, Paris. He has several international and national publications to his credit including two on biotech-Educational Infrastructure for Biotechnology in India, and Venture Capital Financing for Biotechnology. He is Vice-President, International Association of Schools and Institutes in Administration (IASIA), Brussels. He is the Chairman of the Working Group II: Public-Private-Partnership and Enterprise Management constituted by IASIA. He is on the Steering Committee of Network of Asia-Pacific Schools and Institutes of Public Administration and Governance (NAPSIPAG) supported by the Asian Development Bank. He is Honorary Member on the Board of Research, American Biographical Institute, USA.

P. Geeta is currently Knowledge Manager at the Centre for Good Governance, Hyderabad. She has completed her Doctoral study on Memorandum of Understanding in Public Sector Enterprises in India. She has also worked in the area of social safety net for the state level public enterprises in Andhra Pradesh.

Ch. Lakshmi Kumari is currently Research Associate at the Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad. She is a resource faculty to various MBA programmes. She has been associated with various training programmes organised for national and international agencies.

B. Navin is currently Knowledge Manager at the Centre for Good Governance, Hyderabad. He has worked for his Doctoral thesis on Asset Pricing Behaviour in Indian Stock Market. He has been associated with the Asian Development Bank Project and at the Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad. He is also involved in teaching Managerial Economics and Financial Services at the Post-graduate level.
