About the Book :

The present study tries to capture the scenario of infrastructure for biotechnology research, education and industry in India, with special reference to Andhra Pradesh. Touching upon the importance of developing instrumentation centers available to researchers from government, academia and all industry sectors, it addresses the issues related to funding for the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment for biotechnology research. The study also emphasizes the need for new and expanded repositories to hold and preserve the many specimens as well as large amount of data crucial to biotechnology research. The policy framework on educational infrastructure for biotechnology in the country has been examined as well.

About Author :

R.K. Mishra is currently Senior Professor and Director, Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad. Earlier, he has taught at the University of Bradford, United Kingdom and was a visiting Professor of Maison Des Sciences De L Hommes, Paris. He has several international and national publications to his credit including two on biotech-Educational Infrastructure for Biotechnology in India, and Venture Capital Financing for Biotechnology. He is Vice-President, International Association of Schools and Institutes in Administration (IASIA), Brussels. He is the Chairman of the Working Group II: Public-Private-Partnership and Enterprise Management constituted by IASIA. He is on the Steering Committee of Network of Asia-Pacific Schools and Institutes of Public Administration and Governance (NAPSIPAG) supported by the Asian Development Bank. He is Honorary Member on the Board of Research, American Biographical Institute, USA.

Ch. Lakshmi Kumari is currently Research Associate at the Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad. She is a resource faculty to various MBA programmes. She has been associated with various training programmes organised for national and international agencies.

B. Navin is currently Knowledge Manager at the Centre for Good Governance, Hyderabad. He has worked for his Doctoral thesis on Asset Pricing Behaviour in Indian Stock Market. He has been associated with the Asian Development Bank Project and at the Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad. He is also involved in teaching Managerial Economics and Financial Services at the Post-graduate level.

P. Geeta is currently Knowledge Manager at the Centre for Good Governance, Hyderabad. She has completed her Doctoral study on Memorandum of Understanding in Public Sector Enterprises in India. She has also worked in the area of social safety net for the state level public enterprises in Andhra Pradesh.
