About the Book :

The economics of Wasteland reclamation/development through an input-output balance analysis has been assessed as well.


About Author :

S.C. Kalwar, Professor and Head, Department of Geography, Member, Board of Studies in Geography, Member of Academic Council and Senate, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, is a specialist in Agricultural Geography, Rural Development, Land Use Planning, Economic Geography Wasteland Development Studies, Environment and Surveying. He has written/edited 16 books related to resources, wasteland, ecology, environment, poverty and socio-economic development and has participated in about 36 conferences/seminars/symposia of national and international level. He has contributed 66 research papers in various journals of repute. He is a member of Editorial Board of "Studies in Geography" and member of an Advisory Committee of "Charamavati", a research journal. Prof. Kalwar was President of the All Rajasthan Geographers Association (RGA) in 2005-06 and is a life member of National Association of Geographers of India, Rajasthan Geographers Association, Asian Environment Council and Indian Institute of Geomorphology. He was also a member of National Committee, Government of India for evaluating Hindi books on environment for giving prize to the authors at national level, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, New Delhi (2002). He was selected for a Research Award (Career Award) in 2002 by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
