About Author :

S.S. Chahar began his teaching work in the Department of Political Science, Kurukshetra University in 1986. Presently he is working as the Chairman of Department of Public Administration as well as, Director, Centre for Haryana Studies, M.D. University, Rohtak. He has evinced keen interest in the study of state politics since the beginning of his academic career. He has 20 books and 66 well researched papers published to his credit. The books— ‘Ombudsman in India and other Countries: A Comparative Study,’ ‘Indian Government and Politics’, ‘State Administration in India’, ‘Water Problem in India’ etc. are in the process of publication. He has attended more than 120 seminars, conferences and workshops and delivered inaugtural address in many of them. He is a resource person of HIPA, HIRD and several educational institutes on important topics like RTI, consumer protection, democratic decentralization, district planning, budgetary system etc. He has been chosen for awards like Best Citizen of India, 2012 and Shiksha Rattan Puraskar, 2013.
