The edited volume containing twenty-two papers, deals with various issues/problems of empowerment of women in India with special focus on North East and Mizoram perspectives.

About Author :

Harendra Sinha obtained his MA (Political Science) and Ph.D. degrees from Gauhati University, Guwahati, Assam. He is presently working as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Political Science, Government J. Buana College Lunglei, Mizoram. He is actively engaged in teaching and research works. He has contributed number of research papers and regularly contributes articles to various journals and present papers at seminars. He has written books on Indian Government and Politics, Major Political System, Political Theory, Western Political Thought and Public Administration (co-authored) published by Research and Publications Committee, Government J. Buana College. Dr. Sinha is currently a member of Board of Studies of the Department of Political Science, Mizoram University, Mizoram Academic Forum (MAF), Mizoram Political Science Association (MIPSA), Mizoram College Teachers Association (MCTA) and the Secretary of MCTA Branch.

J. Zorema obtained his MA (History) and Ph.D. degrees from NEHU, Shillong. He is presently the Principal, Government J. Buana College Lunglei, Mizoram. He has authored the book Indirect Rule in Mizoram-1890-1954 (2007) published by Mittal Publications, New Delhi and contributed a number of research papers and regularly contributes papers to various journals and presents papers at seminars. He is a life member of North East India History Association and Mizo History Association. He is actively involved in social work and had been the President of YMA Sub-Headquarters for two consecutive terms.
