Biswajit Chatterjee is Professor, Department of Economics, Jadavpur University, Kolkata has earned the reputation as an acclaimed economist, an excellent author and editor, learned scholar and researcher of good repute, a very effective and inspiring teacher and research guide and outstanding administrator and organizer. He has also served as Dean, Faculty Council of Arts at Jadavpur University, Kolkata for eight years and Head, Department of Economics, Jadavpur University. He is at present the President of the Indian Society of Labour Economics and was President of the Indian Econometric Society during 201112 and 201213, besides being President of BEA during 20052014. He has contributed many research papers in reputed journals, authored several books and edited volumes on themes of development economics, international trade and labour economics which are being used in many Indian and International Universities. Recently two edited books entitled Analytical Issues in Trade, Finance and Development (2014) and Agriculture, Sustainable Development and Microfinance have been published in His Honour.
Asim K. Karmakar is Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Jadavpur University, Kolkata and Life Member, Indian Society of Labour Economics. He is presently the Executive Council Member of both the Indian Economic Association (IEA) and The Indian Econometric Society (TIES); formerly the Managing Editor (20112014) of the Quarterly Referred Journal Artha Beekshan of Bengal Economic Association. He has contributed many research papers in reputed journals at home and abroad, and written books and edited volumes.
