About Author :


B.P. Mahesh Chandra Guru obtained Masters Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism (1980) and Ph.D. in Development Communication (1997). He has also worked as Journalist (Panchama), Research Associate (National Institute of Rural Development, Hyderabad), Assistant Director (Chandigarh), Lecturer (Bangalore University), Reader (Mangalore University) and Professor (University of Mysore) during the last three decades. He has also served the Karnataka Public Service Commission, Union Public Service Commission, University Grants Commission and National Assessment and Accreditation Council in different capacities. He has been a research consultant to some leading NGOs and media institutions in the country. He is presently heading the Department of Studies in Communication and Journalism, University of Mysore.




B.K. Ravi obtained Master’s Degree in Communication and Ph.D. in Communication. He has served as a journalist and Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in Bangalore University during the last 25 years. He has served the various universities across the country as a Visiting Professor. He has successfully guided 5 research scholars and adjudicated Ph.D. theses as a communication specialist. He has produced more than 100 programmes on current affairs and about 20 documentaries for television. He has delivered series of radio talks as a resource person. He is actively involved as a media specialist in UNESCO, media organizations and NGOs. He has served as Member of Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes, Karnataka Media Academy and other prestigious organizations.
