Koraput is one of the most backward districts of the country where the concentration of tribal population is more than half and the percentage of BPL population is as high as 87 percentage. This book thoroughly examines the impact of the WDPs on the Economic, Social, Political and Environmental consequences of the programme on the people of rainfed areas of the district and also suggest suitable measures for improvement of the programme and making it more effective for sustainable livelihood for the tribal people.
About Author :
Anup Kumar Mohanty born in Koraput district of Odisha in the year 1967, is presently working as a senior faculty in Economics in Semiliguda College under Berhampur University. He has long years of teaching and research experience to his credit. He has completed his post-graduation studies in Analytical and Applied Economics from Utkal University. He has done his M.Phil in Tribal Studies from Council of Analytical Tribal Studies (COATS) under Berhampur University. He has completed his Ph.D. in Economics from Berhampur University in Natural Resource Management in the year 2011. He is also an Associate of Indian Institute of Advanced Studies (IIAS), Shimla. He is a honorary faculty of Council of Analytical Tribal Studies (COATS) and supervising two M.Phil and one Ph.D. scholar under this Institute. He has attended and presented papers in many National and International Seminars.
