Narendar Pani Born on 28 November 1954,  He has been educated at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, the Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum and the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore. He was on the staff of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, when this study was done. He is currently the Economic Correspondent for Deccan Herald, Bangalore.
